I did something I thought was impossible on Sunday.

I drove to Geylang.

For supper.

And I used the car horn for the first time (and 2nd, and 3rd, and...) since I got my license.

Seriously. Do people in black (ahem), ahma-s, aunties and uncles think they own the roads?

Why don't people park at the multi-storey carpark which is so near? Why do the road authorities plan for the entrance of the carpark to be so isolated (ulufied)? Did they realise people not familiar with the area may end up at PIE once they take a wrong turn, making these poor drivers make one BIG detour just to go back to Geylang?

This is exciting. Now I can drive not only to the Rocher Soya Bean place at Selegie, I can also drive to JEC (I mean park there), and also.... to Geylang! Yay... My repertoire just expanded.

Oh did I mention? I 'bought' a Creative Zen Neeon 2 1GB for $100. Haha. Through the mystery-grab thing at the Creative Warehouse Sales. My sister managed to win a MuVo V100 2GB and a pair of ear phones while I won the Neeon 2. Cool huh. And I spent one whole day charging it, putting songs into it, and decorating it. Wahaha.

Malaysia in 4 days time!

I have a story to tell. A story about a toothless tiger who waits in vain for its prey. So here goes...

One day, a toothless tiger was born and it was very difficult to find suitable food for itself. But heaven made it that even toothless tigers will be able to find a suitable prey to survive on. From that day onwards, the toothless tiger always preyed only on that particular animal.

So it happens that this animal is very elusive and only appears occasionally in front of the tiger. For the tiger to catch the animal more often, it often has to lie in wait for its prey, sometimes ages.

Now, one fine day, this toothless tiger couldn't stand its growling stomach (because it hasn't eaten in some time) and decided to lie in wait for its prey at the usual place again (守株待兔 they call it). Actually, this tiger wasn't exactly stupid and went to a fortune-teller to predict if the prey will appear and the result was more than 50% positive.

So feeling rather positive, this tiger took up its place early in the morning and waited. Waited. Waited.

And waited.

Almost 10 hours later, the prey still hadn't appeared and the toothless tiger was feeling sleepy. It went back to rest before going back to its hunting place in the afternoon the next day. The tiger didn't hunt in the morning on the 2nd day because it was too tired from the previous day and was feeling a little sick. The tiger resumed its wait for a couple of hours more before giving up.

Why give up you may say? Because the tiger knew that the prey wouldn't be appearing since it would have appeared if it was meant to be. True enough, the fortune-teller told the tiger the next day, that the prey was sighted in another area, far far away from the toothless tiger. The tiger only shook its head and rued its misfortune.

The tiger ain't that stupid afterall. It knew when to give up (not considering that it already waited a day or two for the prey), and not to let failure get to it. Just keep trying and one day, you'll get what you want. There. That's the moral of the story. Haha.

I secretly think that my mum is finally convinced to get scv. And I'm secretly glad that I think I've managed to persuade her to get the Chinese channels except for those expensive ones. Those I must bid my time. I'm secretly glad. Did I tell you that? I really am.

Four days, coming to the fifth in a few minutes time. I've been trying to keep it at bay. Keep it far away from me so I can continue with my life. But I'm still entangled in its strong tentacles, pulling me back whenever I seem to have broken away.

Water doesn't seem to do any good. More than 2 litres of water (together with umpteen visits to the toilet) and lots of sleep doesn't work. Why. I think it's a virus, waiting to erupt once I let my guard down. I can't let it win. I must prevail and fight.

Fight and show them courage and bravery, not cowardice!

Out, out damn sorethroat!

It was fish's birthday yesterday and we had a superb dinner at sakae sushi at Heeren's. We had buffet so I was gorging on the tofu-s, chawanmushi, gyozas, etc etc, and the desserts. No one wanted to eat so it appeared as if queen and me ate up almost all of the Strawberry Smiles. Funny name. The strawberries were so big, I had problems fitting the whole thing into my mouth.

We forced fish to go on the reverse bungy at clark quay and it was really HOT. evon was forced to go up with her but fish was the one doing all the shouting. Haha. She should have sang piao zhe instead of ni guang during the ride. So anyway, we gave her a mahjong set, hoping she'll really turn into a gambling addict and gamble her life away.

For some reason, I really have no idea what to blog about. My life's pretty mundane at the moment. A bit of 'training' at times, korean, sleep. That's all. Sigh. Monotonous isn't it. I want to train properly but none of them seems interested in training seriously. I hate it. I want to give myself a chance. But they wouldn't. Haha. Too bad then.

The sky has been lighting up frequently since night fell - by lightning. Hopefully it rains at night and it'll be cooler. I don't really want to do the ntu's prog tmr because it simply doesn't fit in with the program. Whatever. I'm going msia 2 weeks later! For ahzi. Haha. Whatelse? goodie. I haven't seen her for some time. Darn. I don't know how to end this so sorry for ending abruptly.
